The Growing Place is a high-end consignment shop. We specialize in everything for babies, kids, mom's and moms-to-be. We have an ever changing selection of name brand clothing for newborns, toddlers, youth, pre-teen and trendy maternity. We carry new and gently used toys, equipment, furniture, shoes and outerwear. If it is something you or your child would need to use - we probably have it at one of our locations. We have thousands of consignors from all over the state and Canada so we can be very picky about what we put on the shelves and racks and it allows for an ever changing inventory at all of our locations. I started TGP in the spring of 2001 kind of on a whim. I am a teacher by trade and had decided to stay home to raise my son. The opportunity to have a consignment store came up and I thought, “Maybe I could do this…” Thirteen years, three expansions and two new stores later, I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. I am so thankful and blessed to have wonderful employees. Each one brings their gifts and talents into the shop and have made it what it is today. I love our customers. I love the variety of items that come in and I love that we are able to offer a service to the community. We aren’t perfect but we strive to do the best we can.

Born in Bangor - married with 3 kids. Been working at TGP for 10yrs. I love shopping second hand so working here was a no brainer. I love that our consignors have become people that I really care about. I love working for a small business I feel it's important for our community and to not just be number employee to a large company. I love being able to freely change and rearrange decor. Fun fact - I love to sew and create and watch sports. I especially love to watch my kids play.
